BUILDING OUR FAITH IN TIMES OF ADVERSITY
INTRODUCTION
In the journey of life, we often encounter storms that test the very foundation of our Christian faith. These adversities can shake us to our core, leaving us questioning and uncertain. However, it is during these times of adversity that the strength of our faith is truly tested, yet it is also when our faith has the opportunity to flourish and grow. We cannot afford to disbelieve God’s supernatural sovereignty and also that the things we desire to see are made from the things we can not see – Hebrews 11:3.
We must know that GOD does things in partnership with us, and the only thing He requires from us most times is just FAITH – believing and acting. He works with us at our level of faith.
WHY DOES MY FAITH FAIL?
Asking amiss or against the will of God. James 4:3
Distractions by our situation or challenges
Matthew 14:30-32 Peter during the storm – Faith can fail when we are influenced by our situation or challenges, we must rather focus on the Lord through prayers. When Peter focused back on the Lord by stretching out his hand, Jesus took him and saved him
Faith can fail when we don’t know our privileges and things that are possible for us in God
Guilt of past sins
When we make GOD small in comparison to our challenge
Faith can fail due to reduction in our level of consecration(Majorly prayer and Bible study)
Not believing GOD really wants to help you.
Not feeling spiritual enough
Faith can fail sometimes when our level of growth in faith is small compared to a challenge or a situation we are facing
Easily forgetting how God has helped you in the past
Pride: 2 Kings 5:11
WHY DOES GOD NEED MY FAITH BEFORE ANSWERING MY PRAYER
Faith is needed in everything, even physical matters. The things i believe are the things I will go for ,act upon or relate with ,So if I Believe God I will go to him, relate with him and act upon his words and instructions(this is why faith is needed)
God needs us to act upon his words and instructions, relate with him and come to him for things to be done
